Roses
account in a normal flower shop for about 50% of the sales. This has been
this way for decades, so there must be an explanation, right?
Carrousel
– Bouquet, hand tied in circles using Cordyline fruticosa ‘Red
Edge’, large flowered Rosa Marie-Claire!, Origanum and large flowered Rosa
Aqua!
Â
Even
though we see a lot of creativity in flower decorations, the rose still
gets the center of attention in many bouquets. Everybody knows and recognizes
the flower, which is one of its stongest features. You can ask anybody
around the world which flower you are holding, they will all know when
you are holding a rose.

Wild
Romance – Hand tied bouquet of large flowered Rosa Ilios!, large
flowered Rosa Akito, Xerophyllum tenax Beargrass, Panicum ‘Fountain’, Ammi
majus and Ophiopogon jaburan T-grass.
Another
strong point is the possibility to combine roses with other flowers. Gerbera's,
Chrysanths, lilies of the valley, the possibilities are endless. You can
get roses in all colours of the rainbow, so you can always find a matching
variety. Dutch flower growers are continuously experimenting with new colours
to expand the assortment. Some excellent results can be found among the
bicoured roses.

Two
Faces+ – Bicoloured, large flowered, mid-pink rose with a haze
of yellow.

Amalia
– the petals are deep pink inside and dark red outside.
Giving
a rose will undeniably result in a reaction of the receiver. You should
never underestimate the emotional impact of a rose. When you give someone
a rose, you are offering love and appreciation. Every rose variety tells
a story. The colour has meaning, the fragrance has a value and each variety
has an individual character.

Avalanche
Peach+ – Peach coloured rose with curling outer petals.

Fiesta+
– Yellow and pale pink flames flicker on the petals.
Yellow,
orange, lilac: they are very popular and deep red remains a firm favourite.
Flower trends always fluctuate, but it is not likely that a (combination
of) colour(s) can get dark red off its throne.

La
Belle - A soft pink centre glows in a circle of pale green petals.

Tara
- the bright yellow colour contrasts starkly with the curling petals.
Because
of the high sales prices of roses can be kept relatively low. Some other
flower can be quite expensive (orchids, zantedechia's, hydrangea's), but
it is not hard to arrange funding for some roses, even in times of economic
crises. Roses do not look at the status of the giver or the receiver. It
makes no difference if you are living in the slums or go shopping on Bond
Street every day: roses are everybody’s flowers.

Grande
Amore – The most popular colour of the most popular flower: A
true lover’s rose in velvet red.
